The brief

A home, engineered as a system.

Most residential security is bolted on after the building is finished — separate vendors for the gate, the alarm, the cameras, the wiring. The result is usually a stack of warranties that don't talk to each other and systems that fail in surprising ways. The Kyanjja owner brought PASS Systems in early to specify everything as one build.

What we built

• Full electrical installation — certified wiring, panels and circuits engineered around the residence's actual load profile.
• Automated sliding gate — remote and mobile-app controlled, integrated with the access-control layer.
• Wireless alarm system — zoned coverage with mobile alerts to the owner and the on-site security detail.
• Razor wire perimeter — physical deterrent across the boundary wall.
• Solar lighting — exterior path, perimeter and gate lighting on its own solar circuit, so security lighting doesn't fail with the grid.

A home should feel like a home, not a fortress. The trick is to make the security disappear into the building — visible only when you look for it.

Why solar lighting is non-negotiable.

Most residential security lighting is wired into the house circuit. The cameras, alarms, and exterior lights all go dark together in an outage — exactly when you most need them on. The Kyanjja design separates lighting onto its own solar circuit specifically to break that single point of failure:

1. Grid outage — house lighting and security lighting behave independently. Perimeter stays lit.
2. Battery backup — alarm and gate keep functioning on their own backup independent of house power.
3. Maintenance windows — any single system can be taken offline for service without darkening the perimeter.
